This year’s projects include teachers’ accommodation for a sugarloaf farming community in the Central Region, a classroom block for a school in a pineapple growing area, two public toilets for communities with poor sanitation and the launch of the School Farm of the Year Competition. All projects are expected to be completed this year. The first project to start was a new classroom block for Obodan Primary School in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The previous structure was unsafe and had been condemned by the local authorities; therefore a request was made to the Foundation to construct a replacement block. Work started in January to demolish the old structure and a small ceremony was held in February to cut the sod and officially signal the start of this project.
